Our Tree Care Services
Trees do a lot for your property—they add to the beauty of your landscaping, provide shade from the summer sun, and even increase the value of your home. To make the most of your investment, give your trees the best care available by hiring a Certified Arborist to maintain their health.
Certified Arborists have advanced training in tree science and management, which means they have the knowledge and experience to provide customized solutions that work best for both you and your trees. Consider a Certified Arborist as your tree doctor that can keep your landscape looking its best and restore damaged trees back to health.
Rick’s Plant Health Care tree care services in Montgomery County include:
Residential Tree Care – Just like people need routine physicals, trees also need regular preventive care in order to thrive. Residential tree inspections are best scheduled in spring or fall, two critical times of year for tree health. During a tree inspection, our Certified Arborists will look for any early signs of disease and infestation.
Deep Root Feeding – Deep root feeding helps your trees reach their full potential. We bury a pipe near the roots of the tree, then use it to deliver an environmentally-safe, non-toxic mixture of optimized liquid nutrients. Using a pipe keeps the solution away from children and pets and ensures that it reaches where it is needed.
Soil Injections – Soil injections are another targeted option that directs treatment into the soil near the base of a tree to protect it from disease and harmful insects. At Rick’s Plant Health Care, we only use this in extreme cases based on need as these are less environmentally-friendly.
Trunk Injections – Trunk injections are the preferred treatment option for Emerald Ash Borers in Montgomery County. This approach involves injecting pesticides directly into the trunk of an infected tree where larvae feed. Trunk injections provide two years of protection from infestation.
Emerald Ash Borer Treatment – With our regular tree inspections, we can identify Emerald Ash Borer infestations in their earliest stages, when trees can still be saved from needing to be cut down.
Spotted Lanternfly Treatment – Spotted lanternflies are swarming insects that feed on several species of trees in Montgomery County, including oaks, willows, maples, pines, birch trees, cherry trees, apple trees, and their favorite, ailanthus trees. Lanternfly treatment can be applied directly to the bark in some cases or, more often, injected into the trunk.
Growth Regulation – Growth regulators slow the natural growth of trees, reducing the pruning and maintenance needed and helping them to grow healthier. These treatments are injected into the soil and provide a great solution for trees suffering from root damage due to construction vehicles, mower damage, etc.
Rick’s Plant Health Care was founded by John Rogalsky, a Certified Arborist and Applicator. The business started as a division of Rick’s Tree Service, but it was later sold to John, who now runs it as a separate company. When John isn’t out in the field providing first-class arborist services, he stays up-to-date on the latest tree care research so he can offer clients in Montgomery County the latest science-backed treatment options.
